- Start Traceback: Select to start a traceback. For detailed steps see section Delay Analysis > Running a Traceback.
- Exit Traceback: Select to exit current traceback and load a new project or restart traceback for current project.
- Save Traceback: Saves the traceback session. Allows you to continue analysis from the same point in the future.
- Load Traceback: Loads traceback sessions previously saved.
- Save Traceback to XER: Saves traceback critical path to .XER format which can be imported into P6 for further analysis including what-if scenario analysis.
- Open Traceback Log: Exports traceback details to HTML file.
Provides full log details outlining the settings, traceback attribute weights, files and reasoning for excluding activities from critical path.
This detail provides an auditable reference that be used as a documented position to substantiate delay analysis reports and negotiations.

Traceback Report – Detailed Scoring of Candidate Predecessors:

Delay Analysis #
Delay analysis tab shows the duration of all delays in the traceback path grouped by impact to the project schedule.
This includes:
- Gap: For the identified critical path, shows the activities that have a gap in days between the end of the previous activity and the start of the identified activity.
- Mitigation/Acceleration: Activities movements that have mitigated delays or accelerated progress.
- New Critical Activity: Shows activities on the critical path that were not in the baseline schedule. These are shown in green on the Gantt view.

- Other Delay: Activities that with delay that are not classified under the other reported categories.
- Prolongation: Activities with duration or lag prolongation.
- Duration Prolongation: Shows activities where the actual time required to complete a task or activity is longer than initially planned. Duration prolongation directly affects the overall project timeline because it extends the time needed to complete individual tasks.
- Lag Prolongation: Show activities where there is delay or waiting period between two dependent activities. Lag prolongation affects the scheduling of dependent tasks but does not necessarily change the duration of the tasks themselves.
Navigation: Bottom tab bar > Delay Analysis
- Use Type to filter and find an activity or expand the category by clicking the dropdown arrow.
- Click on an activity and the Gantt view will change to highlight the selected activity.

The Traceback process commences from the activity selected then trace back to the start to establish the critical path.
